We're new, we're figuring it out. Here's the deal.
How This Started
A few of us started sailing together this season and it just kind of clicked. Raft ups, group sails, a trip to Two Harbors. Then people from other boats started asking if they could join in, so we figured why not make it a thing.
This group is for people who have a new boat, or have tried sailing before but don't want to jump straight into big racing. We wanted something where you can just show up and join in without it feeling weird. Plus it's just fun to be part of a club.
For this first year it's really just about building the community and getting the name out there. If it grows into something more formal down the road, cool. But we don't want to ruin the vibe by making it this big thing right away.
The Rules
We have bylaws. They're pretty short.
Don't Be a Dick
This is self explanatory.
Help People Out
Give advice freely. If someone is new and figuring stuff out, help them. We were all there at some point.
Respect the Lake
Superior doesn't mess around. Be safe, be smart, look out for each other out there.
Keep It Chill
We're not trying to be this big formal thing. No egos, no pressure. Just come hang and enjoy it.
